The Santa Cruz Jewish Film Festival is preparing for a fantastic set of films and events for 2019, and we are reaching out for your financial support.
The SCJFF promotes understanding and appreciation of Jewish culture and history throughout the greater Santa Cruz community. We screen extraordinary films to uplift, educate, and entertain our audiences.
Every film costs money. We pay the filmmaker or distributor for each film screened, and although we seek out the best films at the best prices, nonetheless this cost has now risen as high as $1,500 per film.
In recent years we have offered free admission to the theater, with donations requested at the door, in order that no one should be turned away solely for lack of funds. These donations, while substantial, provide just a fraction of the cost of producing the Festival. Truly, the SCJFF would not exist without the generous support of contributors and sponsors like you.
Please review the contribution and sponsorship levels on the next page and use the enclosed return envelope to contribute to the SCJFF. Your contribution is tax deductible and would be deeply appreciated.
As Chair of the 2019 SCJFF committee, I welcome your questions and input. Feel free to call me at (725) 333-4564 or (831) 239-5208.
Please give what you can. We appreciate all donations and look forward to seeing you “at the movies” March 30 to April 4. 2019!
Yours truly,
Paul Drescher
Chair, 2019 Santa Cruz Jewish Film Festival
